USH Bereavement Support Group (Meeting every Wednesday now through March 26th)

Wednesday, February 5, 2025 7 Shevat 5785

7:30 PM - 8:30 PMOn ZOOM

Dear Community Members,

In times of profound loss, we believe in the power of coming together to bear witness to each other’s pain.  We are pleased to announce the formation of the United Synagogue of Hoboken Bereavement Support Group—a compassionate space where members of our community can share their stories and be heard.

What We Offer:   A supportive environment to share experiences and emotions.  Group discussions led by fellow community members.  An opportunity to honor and witness each other's grief and discuss our losses.  A chance to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of bereavement.

How It Will Work:

Peer-Led Discussions:  The group will be facilitated by community members who are also navigating their grief journeys.  These discussions will be a safe space for sharing and support.

Open Sharing:  Each session will provide time for participants to share their experiences, memories, and feelings. You can speak freely about your loss and grief. While sharing is encouraged, it is not mandatory—listening is also a valuable way to participate.

Respect and Confidentiality:  All conversations within the group will be treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. We aim to create a trusting environment where everyone feels safe to express themselves.

Resource Sharing:  Group members are welcome to share helpful resources, such as books, articles, and practices that have supported them in their grief.

Who Can Join:

The support group is open to all USH community members who have experienced loss, whether recent or past.  We welcome individuals seeking understanding, solidarity, and a space where their grief is acknowledged.

Meeting Details:

Date:  Wednesday February 5 and the following 7 Wednesdays Time: 7:30-8:30pm Format: 60-minute sessions via Zoom.  We recognize that every person's grief journey is unique. Our goal is to provide a compassionate and supportive space where your loss is witnessed and your feelings are honored.
